Farewell spending spree
Since Bercow stepped down as Speaker of the Commons, he has been having a lovely time spending taxpayers’ money on so-called ‘farewell tours’ amounting to over £21,000.
These included an expensive trip to America to make a speech encouraging Remain MPs to block a no-deal Brexit.
His spending spree also includes £12,427 on retirement parties for the ‘Principal Clerk of the House’, the ‘Clerk of the House’ and the ‘Speaker’s Chaplain’.
Mr Bercow also claimed a further £118 pounds for a Sky subscription package and a taxi trip from London to Nottingham, the latter costing a staggering £1,000 at the taxpayer’s expense.
